Eshon Burgundy

Since the name 16 Bars of Light was inspired by the CHH (Chrisitan Hip-Hop) movement, we’d like to start this blog off with one of our favorites. Philly’s own Eshon Burgundy is one of the greatest lyricist on the planet in our opinion! If you haven’t heard of him we suggest you check him out below in this acapella video of the track “Pray” from his Passover album.

Philadelphia native Eshon Burgundy is no stranger to the hip-hop world. In recent years he’s featured on Jazzy Jeff’s “Return of the Magnificent” (BBE), Hezekiah’s “I Predict a Riot” (Rawkus), and Snowgoons’ “Snowgoons Dynasty” (Babygrande). He’s also collaborated heavily with a number of fellow Christian rappers, such as: Bizzle, Andy Mineo, Gemstones, Braille and more. Over the years he’s dropped a litany of mixtapes and two albums of his own. His first album “Blood Rushing to My Head” (2012), his Billboard charting release “The Fear of God” (Humble Beast, 2015) and his latest Billboard charting release “The Passover” (NFTRY 2016).
